Civil Groups Blog

Lidell was the only student in my Senior Group today, but he and I had a good conversation. I told him about last week’s Freshman group discussion, the unfair treatment of students by teachers, and I asked for his opinion. Lidell said that when he was a freshman he felt mistreated too. He acted out his frustrations, and it got him into trouble.

…The freshman group met today. They are still testing the waters about how much is safe to share. Issues came up when they talked about how they are doing academically. They told stories about unfair treatment by teachers.

We started CiViL Groups at Stratford High School in January of 2004. From the very beginning I have kept a log about what happened in group. My initial idea for this blog is to tell the story of CiViL Groups by using edited portions of that log.
